Texturing and kitchen cabinets.

It has been a little while since I have posted on the progress of our house and I am excited to finally share that we have texturing and the cabinet installation has started! Since much of our state is under water (so unlike you, Colorado), the exterior paint and driveway have taken a back seat on the progress of our house.

Back to our handy little to-do list:

  • Grading and site preparation
  • Foundation construction
  • Framing
  • Installation of windows and doors
  • Roofing
  • Siding
  • Rough Electrical
  • Rough Plumbing
  • Rough HVAC
  • Insulation
  • Drywall
  • Texturing
  • Trim
  • Tile
  • Painting
  • Finish electrical
  • Bathroom and kitchen cabinets (in progress)
  • Counter installation
  • Finish plumbing
  • Wood floor installation
  • Carpet installation
  • Finish HVAC
  • Hookup to water main, or well drilling
  • Hookup to sewer or installation of a septic system
  • Final walk - through (October 14, 2013)

  • Orange peel texture. Very typical for Colorado!

Because it was stormy and dark out by the time we got to take the pictures, the lighting is not great and makes our cabinets look black. They are really 42" Java Mastercraft cabinets. Java is a very dark brown. My husband really wanted dark cabinets, even though I wanted white, I suppose I can sacrifice one thing since he is paying for the house! :)

Our eight foot Santa Fe doors were also delivered! SO excited for these bad boys!

The crown molding has not been installed yet.

Hopefully we get out of this rainy pattern and the workers can move further on the outside features.
