What dreams are made of: white kitchens!

Well, hello! It has been a hot minute! I just thought I would stop by and share our newest home project! And when I say "our" I basically mean me because my husband helped in the slimmest way possible because I am a control freak! I am loving how big and bright our new kitchen looks. Well, it is technically the same kitchen, but the espresso cabinets had to go! There is nothing quite like a bright and airy feel in the kitchen!

And remember what it looked like before?

And now...

Long Lost Kitchen

It has been awhile since I have shared our kitchen, and I honestly cannot remember if we have really changed anything in here or not... but it was looking pretty so I snapped a few photos!

New wall.

The wall that has been in our little dining area has been different three times in less than a year. I never really liked how it looked and nothing seemed sufficient until I came across a Pin on Pinterest, and went to search on Craig's List to find something unique.

Here is how it has looked….

It just did not work. The clock looked great when there was nothing under it. Then, once I added the "buffet," it was too high and the decor on it was insufficient for the size of the wall. So once we moved to clock to over our fireplace (which I LOVE), we moved the yellow aspen painting there. But since we got rid of the yellow in the family room, it was out of place. So we have finally come to this….

I love how it looks. And, it only took THREE different looks to get it to be what I had wanted it to be! I am going to add some fall decor on here soon, but I just don't have enough yet to add!

Some fun kitchen updates coming soon.

Words can not describe how much I love our kitchen. I still think about having white cabinets all the time, but it was a fun change since we had white in our last house. And, I guess since my husband bought the house, he should get the say in at least one aspect!

This is what our kitchen looked like at Christmas time:

Since then we have painted, added a new light fixture, and added a poster from Dear Lillie near our window. We also have added touches of yellow for spring.

In the next week or so, my dad is coming over to help me add some pendant lights and cabinet hardware. Here are the things I am thinking of for these....

For the cabinets (but vertical)

What do you think? Any favorites or ones you hate?

I also got this fabric for making a faux roman shade in our kitchen. I bought the wrong size tension rods so I need to get new ones this week sometime. Similar to this...

Our chairs are also 7 years old, and after two kids they are kind of falling apart. I really want new fun chairs for our island. I love the way chairs with a back look against counters. All of these pictures can be found on this Pinterest board.

I think I am done rambling about the new additions to our kitchen. If you made it though this post, go you! :)
