Gutters and model home love.

No big updates this weekend. But, we now have gutters! I guess that is one step in the right direction!

We also visited some more model homes this weekend and I took a few pictures of the exact color of cabinets (not style), backsplash, and counters that we are going to have! Take a look!

Here are a few more vignettes and areas that I loved!

We heard from the "official" report that drywall is starting tomorrow! We should have some major updated by Friday! Happy Monday all!

Insulation.

After not visiting our home since Monday, we have realized how slow these next couple weeks are going to be. We think it is because they gave us a time frame. Now we know where we stand so it is going to take that much longer!

  • Grading and site preparation
  • Foundation construction
  • Framing
  • Installation of windows and doors
  • Roofing
  • Siding
  • Rough Electrical
  • Rough Plumbing
  • Rough HVAC
  • Insulation
  • Drywall (currently waiting on delivery)
  • Texturing
  • Trim
  • Painting
  • Finish electrical
  • Bathroom and kitchen counters and cabinets (The cabinets have been ordered!!)
  • Finish plumbing
  • Carpet and flooring
  • Finish HVAC
  • Hookup to water main, or well drilling
  • Hookup to sewer or installation of a septic system
  • Final walk - through

In the next week we should expect to see the driveway, steps to the front porch, drywall, and nail inspection finished. Heres to hoping that the weather is dry so the drywall can be delivered.

Nine months.

Happy nine months Lukey-bear!

Milestones this month:

  • You got your first tooth
  • You started crawling
  • You pull yourself up onto your knees on furniture
  • You started shaking your head "no-no-no"
  • You also enjoy laughing when other people laugh, but it is this terribly cute "fake" laugh
  • You started being a cheese ball when someone takes your picture
  • You make a very cute clicky sound with your tongue
  • You wear a size 4 diaper
  • You are in 12 month clothes and 18 month pajamas (you have chubby monkey thighs)
  • You love Fisher Price little people cars
  • Since moving you from the crib to the Pack-N-Play you have reverted back to horrid sleeping patterns. You wake up two or three times a night. We are tired, cut it out!
  • You enjoy eating baby cookies, pizza, toast, noodles, chicken noodle soup, and cheerios!
At nine months old:
  • You weigh: 20.7 lbs (50th %tile)
  • You are 29 inches long (75th %tile)

Literally, right after these adorable pictures were taken, Aiden jumped back up on this chair and smashed Luke right in the face giving him a bloody nose. Basically all hell broke loose... you can imagine how our day went from there... But, at least I got some cute pictures!

Mantel Inspiration.

Today and yesterday have been one of those days. Yesterday Aiden did not want to go to school. Like, at all. It is only the kids third day and he was having a fit about going. Obviously I made him go, but he was not at all happy about it. I dropped him off and one of his teachers picked him up and brought him over to drop his backpack off in his cubby. As I was walking away I decided to look in the window to see how he was doing. I was hoping he was better. NEVER. LOOK. BACK. He was standing around the time, while all the other kids were sitting, and all the teachers looking at him while yelling "I DON'T WANT TO!!"... Yes, I could hear him through the closed windows. In fact, these windows don't ever open, so you can imagine he was probably pretty loud. I felt awful. Awful for Aiden because I wonder if he has outside influences telling him they do not like school - therefore he repeats what he hears. And awful for the teachers. Those poor teachers.

When I picked him up, Ms. Cheryl, his teacher, said he cried for about five minutes and then when she was rolling a Play-Dough snake, he picked it up, said it was a Ninja thing, threw it, and he was happy from there on out!

But on to my mantel. Our last home did not have one so I am so exited about this house having one! Last night in class, while I should have been paying attention to someone talk, I found myself imagining our mantel. Here are some of the mantels from Pinterest that I adore!

I love the bottom of this fireplace. The lantern, baskets, and small bench is adorable!

On an interior design website awhile back I read something about every family room mantel needs art. It need color to bring the room alive. I love mirrors. But, I think I may go out of my mirror comfort zone and actually use artwork to brighten up the room. My husband wants to mount the TV over the fireplace. NOT happening! I hope you enjoy these lovely mantels as much as I have!

Sittin' on the porch.

Monday night we took a trip down to the house to see if we saw any signs of inspection. We saw some scribbles here and there. We are hoping everything passed today and we are on for drywall on Friday!

Aiden also has said this room is his "bunk-bed" room since it was first built. Even in the model, this is the room he wants.

We also snuck into a neighbors house, that is still available, and a month ahead of ours. This is where they are currently!

Today we had a fun day after pre-school!

I LOVE watching these two together. Luke thinks the world of his brother and was laughing hysterically when Aiden would pop his head to the hole!

We are so excited to share drywall pictures as soon as the drywall gets put up! We love hanging out on our new porch and just sitting and listening to the quiet. We are not used to quiet anymore!
