Six year wedding anniversary.

I have been waiting to write a post like this one since we started trying to have babies. I have seen all of these ideas all over pinterest, and with two boys I was never able to do something like this. I am drowning myself in all the girly goodness that I can before she turns into the tomboy she will likely be with two older brothers.

Six years ago today....

In the last year, we have...

Found out we were having a baby girl....

Visited zoo lights for the first time...

Went to Zac Brown Band at Fiddler's...

Berto turned 30 in Las Vegas...

Became and Uncle and an Aunt....

Traveled abroad to Mexico....

Watched our oldest little man graduate from pre-school....

Welcomed our first daughter....

Watched Aiden turn five...

Saw him in his first play...

Had a lot of snowball fights...

Visited Boulder a few times...

Watched Bama turn eight!

Had Leila's first hospital visit...

.... and watched two of our best friends get married!

And lastly, a new yearly tradition...

My daughter in my wedding dress. She is pure love. It has been the best six years of my life, that is for sure!

Update: Front porch.

In the last month we were able to finally convince Richmond (our builder) to add railing to our front porch. In Colorado, the drop off code is 32.5 inches. Our drop was almost 36 inches. It was dangerous, especially with little kids. At first they were saying it was settling, but it wasn't, it had always been a huge drop off.

Here is the before and after:

Other than our flowers growing a lot, doesn't it look so much better? The whole porch now looks complete!

Notice the two dead plants, we are also trying to get Richmond to replace those since all they have ever given us are dead plants. We might just bite the bullet and replace them ourselves, but I don't want to let them win, because I know that is what they are banking on.

Leila: two months old!

I cannot believe my little peanut is already two months old, and growing like a weed. I am happy she is getting bigger, but also sad that this was my last full month off with her before my practicum starts and I will be gone 4 days a week (WAH!) I seriously am going to be a mess leaving her, and with Aiden starting Kindergarten, August is going to be a bundle of emotions!

July 29, 2015

Weight: 10 pounds, 15.2 ounces
Length: 22.5 inches

This little nugget is getting SO big! She switched from size one diapers to size two diapers. She is so long so she needs taller diapers and the size two work so much better! She is still in size 0-3 month clothing and they are starting to be "v-neck" because of how long she is, so she might be switching to 3 - 6 month jammies pretty soon!

Some nicknames we have for her are: Beadies, Leil-y, and Leggy-bug (Luke's name for lady bug)
Heath issues: Her reflux is still an issue, but it is getting better little by little. She also got a little cold this month but is on the mend.
Sleep: She has slept through the night three times. She is pretty inconsistent with her sleeping habits. Sometimes she sleeps nine hours and sometimes she sleeps three. We prefer the nine.
Diet: 100% nursing. She hates formula.
Baby gear love: Still loves her swing, bouncy chair, and Rock-n-Play. She also has been sitting in the Bumbo here and there.
Likes: loves being held, her swing, her little lovey-bunny, her wubba-nub, being bounced in her bouncy chair, smiling, cozy blankets
Dislikes: formula, being flat on her back, really loud noises

She is such a smiley and happy baby. Even when she wakes up far to early in the morning, she has the best smiles, so at least she makes it worth it!

Some photos from this past month:

Those eyelashes! ;)

Happy two months, Leila!

Cool Baby Girl Things: July 2015

I thought I would do a quick check in of the little girl things I am currently loving! It is so fun to be able to shop for Leila and do all thing "girl" after doing all boy things for five years! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE boy things (mud, dirty tub rings, sports, bugs, daredevils, etc.), but being able to buy some dainty things is such a new and wonderful thing!

Sources: Ergo, Target, Carter's, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids

Both bows are from Nordstrom. The knot is Baby Bling, and the fancier bow is PHL. I used to love small bows before I had Leila, and then I realized they leave a horrible dent in their head and that is just sad... so on to big bows!

Both outfits are from Carters. I love picking things out for Leila that I would wear as an adult. I love floral prints and I think they look darling on little girls.

BABY MOCCS! Oh my goodness, I love these! They are Freshly Picked from Nordstrom in blush. They are so cute on little baby feet. They also make these for little boys, although my husband informs me that little boys in moccs are not cool.

The Ergo is a new thing with the third baby. It is so much more comfortable than the Baby Bjorn.

The little ballerina bunny is from Pottery Barn Kids. I am unimpressed by the collection this year. There are dark skinned bunnies with dark hair and light skinned bunnies with light hair. Apparently there is no mix of medium skinned bunnies with medium hair. Hm.

These Circo swaddle blankets from Target are the best burp cloths for a pukey baby!

Well that is all for now! I finally finished our bathroom so I should have the post up in the next week (yay!). I also will have Leila's two month post and a special anniversary post for my 6th anniversary to the most amazing man and father in the universe! How did I ever get so lucky?!

Master Bathroom Mood Board

I have slowly been working on our master bathroom since we have moved in but did not paint it until I was 9 month pregnant... I nest in weird ways. This is what it looked like when we moved in:

I am very happy that we chose to upgrade our tile because installing new tile was not fun at all in our last house. I also love how neutral this tile is and how well it looks with the green and blues in our master bedroom. It still looks a little "builder grade" so my goal is to turn it into more of an oasis, somewhere to relax and take a nice bath!

We have added some towels, bath mats, and blinds. But it needs to be decorated to make it look more beautiful! I also need to organize the lower cabinets, because it is getting ridiculous!

It is still very plain, but with a little color on the walls it should look much better!

Also, here are some of the bathrooms I love on Pinterest. You can find them on this Pinterest board.

Hopefully I will have time to finish and photograph it this weekend!

Leila's Newborn Photos: Taylor Meyer Photography

As I have mentioned before, I am kind of obsessed with the way Leila's newborn photos turned out. Taylor Meyer from Taylor Meyer Photography took them and she was SO patient while we waited for Leila to pass out so we could take the adorable and angelic photos of a sleeping newborn. She had so many adorable props and was so good with her, it was no surprise the photos turned out so wonderfully!

I really did not want to be in any of the pictures, after just having a baby and dealing with some back issues, but Taylor convinced me that I should just take a few and I am SO happy I did. I loved the way they turned out and it is definitely something that I will cherish forever.

I also am thoroughly impressed that she was able to get my two older boys to sit still. I am serious, they NEVER sit still - it drives me bonkers most days. I love how Aiden looks like he is a model kid and so deep in thought.

I couldn't have asked for better photos to capture this moment in our family timeline. If you are interested in getting photos taken by Taylor, make sure you check out her page and her Facebook page for deals and specials!
